Energy Efficient and LEED Certification for New County Buildings
Sacramento County has constructed new buildings that are extremely efficient to operate, consume far less energy and water, and save taxpayers money, several of which, also meet LEED silver+ certification by the US Green Building Council.
Animal Care and Regulation: LEED Gold Certification
The facility is kind to animals, humans and the environment with its LEED Gold Certification. The
Animal Care Shelter facility site has maximized open space with 20 percent of the space dedicated to native plantings and pedestrian areas. In construction, pre and post consumer recycled content was used, along with regionally available materials that were extracted and manufactured within 500 miles of the site. The building used high performance filters, low velocity air systems, low flow fixtures and low-pollutant emitting materials.
