Energy Efficient and LEED Certification for New County Buildings
Sacramento County has constructed new buildings that are extremely efficient to operate, consume far less energy and water, and save taxpayers money, several of which, also meet LEED silver+ certification by the US Green Building Council.
Fleet Maintenance Facility
The 42,000 square foot complex replaced a 40-year-old facility that was declared economically irreparable and failed to meet code requirements for alternative-power vehicles. The facility was designed and constructed to be environmentally friendly and features skylighting to reduce energy costs and a storm water run-off filtering system to eliminate any potential contamination of storm water. Fleet services uses environmentally-conscious re-refined and recycled products and provides maintenance to light fleet hybrid and low-emission vehicles and a heavy fleet consisting of liquefied natural gas and propane vehicles.
