Climate Action Progress

On November 6, 2024, the Board of Supervisors unanimously approved the October 2024 Final Sacramento County Climate Action Plan (CAP) to provide a comprehensive roadmap to reduce greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions and increase climate resiliency throughout unincorporated county and in County government operations. Implementation of the CAP is monitored through three primary methods:

  1. The CAP Progress Report provides a high-level summary of county GHG emissions, climate hazards, and CAP measure and action implementation progress. It essentially summarizes the Sustainability Dashboard and GHG Inventories.
  2. The Sustainability Dashboard details the CAP measures and actions and provides updated implementation narratives for each measure as well as status indicators for every measure and supporting action.
  3. The GHG Inventories provide detailed information on the quantity of GHG emissions generated from activities occurring within the unincorporated county and in County government operations over one calendar year.
